Nestled between a jewellery store and a pasty shop in the heart of Hereford city centre, sits an unassuming- looking little coffee shop. Yet, when you enter the café, you discover that it has a great personality; the type of place that makes you feel right at home as soon as you walk in.
This is just one of the things that makes the Tandem Bakery so wonderful. The staff are friendly, the coffee delicious and the atmosphere relaxed. Exactly the things you want in a coffee shop.
I was home from university and so I thought that a trip to the café would be the perfect place for a catch-up with my mum. One of the things I noticed was that we were left alone to relax and we certainly weren’t rushed; it’s never nice to feel like you need to vacate your table as soon as you finish your drink.
When it comes to coffee, Tandem Bakery has their own special espresso blend created by local business Method Coffee Roasters. Yet they don’t just serve drinks.
The food looked fantastic, both savoury and sweet, and there was a wide range of choices on offer. In fact, I kind of wanted to try a bit of everything!
After staring at the options for too long I finally decided on a decaf macchiato and a Creme Egg brownie (I couldn’t resist!) it was something I’d seen on Instagram a few times and really wanted to try. It didn’t disappoint – and neither did the macchiato. My mum went for a cappuccino and said that it was the best she’d ever had.
At the Tandem Bakery, they care about good coffee and customer service. They know what they’re doing and they’re doing it right! I definitely can’t wait until I’m back home in Hereford so I can visit again.
